Bangkok Beginnings

sunny 35 °C

Thirty hours from our bed in Gabriola to our bed in Bangkok. We are adjusting to Asian life: the heat - thirty degrees+; the air scented by jasmine, deep frying and sewers; the sights of monks, tourists and prostitutes. Jim has been tempted by offers of 4 complete tailored outfits; suits, shirts, ties etc. for $99 US, while I'm attracted by Thai massages and eyebrow tinting. We were feeling adventurous until we met a couple our age from Whistler BC at the start of a 4 month tour on a tandem. Train for us - we're doing it the easy way. Tomorrow the ancient Thai capital- Ayuthaya.

What?? a massage over a complete new suit? You go, girl - although I can't quite imagine your eyebrows needing tinting! We'll raise of cup of tea to you tomorrow night. It's RAINED since you left but sunny with wonderful fall colours today. Regards to Jim-boy. Love Joyce
